I agree with others that the pixel comic sets you apart from the crowd...you'll have hand-drawn work up with the hallucinations comic, so you could just update Adventures as you're inspired to. However, I also agree that if the pixels aren't you're passion, don't do it just to please the crowd. There, I think I covered all the angles so as to have added nothing of value to the discussion.

That's such a tough decision. B&W is great because even though it's minimalist and pixelated it's adorable and I love the little expressions on their faces and the jokes are cute and clever in a, "this makes me feel like a kid again" and then I read B&WA and you're expanding on their little universe and doing clever things artistically (I'm thinking the Old Timey one, or the S.E.A.T. stories) so it's hard to pick which one I like better because they are both really great. I really wish I had an answer. but I like some more of both please

Thank you all for the input! Sounds like it might be a good idea to keep pixel Bug & Worm going, but maybe try a new, hand-drawn strip. But would I still post it at bugandworm.com? Hrm. My brother and I are working on a new strip, but that one will have its own domain and be totally separate from Bug & Worm.

I haven't come to a final decision yet, though, so if you haven't replied here yet, please do so and tell me what you think!!

I vote to either keep it the same or just do the pixelated - although I know a lot of people love your hand-drawn stuff, I prefer the pixel comic.

2. Get rid of the Adventures and do a simpler pixel Bug & Worm more times a week

Pixel Bug and Worm , are probably among best comics on the web today. It took me ONE look to immediately make it my bookmark , regular read web comic.

Why?

First , your pixel art style is simply amazing. Without this B&W would not be the same.
Second , your writing is great. Simple , short , funny and refreshing.

Adventures , although not shabby - do not carry the same PUNCH for me. They lose in originality and uniqueness.

Here is my idea !

Keep doing Pixel Bug&Worm (you still have people addicted to it !!!)

And instead of B&W Adventures , try something completely different !

Don't mind us readers! Do whatever you want to do! Otherwise you'll be cartooning for the sake of others, and that isn't going to entertain at all!

I enjoy both strips and don't mind the update schedule, so option 1 is good for me. If you have to change, I prefer the hand-drawn art, but you do beautiful color work and it would be a real shame if you gave that up.

Truth be told, I read B&W/B&WA more for the art than the scripting. I wouldn't mind if you focus only on one or do a completely different strip, as long as you're drawing something sufficiently pretty. I'm not going to say "the same quality", since there are often ways artists can simplify their work with a small but largely unnoticeable drop in quality; as long as it has the same charm I'll probably stay subscribed to the RSS feed. Best of luck in accomplishing your goals!
