Space Adventures No 1

I have it all worked out how this gets to where it is in my head, but I may just throw in random strips of Zeta-Bug (the white Bug from the multi-Bug & Worm strips) in his space adventures.  Here’s a really basic run down of what’s happening (it’s WAY over-complex in my head.  I’ve though about much more than a person should):

WARNING: Very geeky sci-fi stuff follows that is just for fun and not at all necessary for the enjoyment of the normal Bug & Worm strips.

Zeta-Bug is made of zeta-waves, which were created when Bug hit the button on the odd device.  Zeta-waves can do all sorts of neat things, but they need to be focused to really work.  Zeta-Bug modified his atmosfield suit to do so, and with it, he started helping out planets and civilizations in trouble.  Eventually, he figured out how to make more atmosfield suits and channel his zeta-waves into them so that other kind aliens could wear them and have a lot of his powers.  The suits change colors based on how they are being used (I’m still working on what color corresponds to what function.  I just like the idea of the suits changing color).  I know this reeks of Green Lantern, but I promise it just kind of worked out that way.  I’m not trying to rip-off DC or anything.

Wormox started off helping Zeta-Bug, but he couldn’t quite keep up without his own atmosfield suit.  When he put one on, however, it went completely wonky and stopped working, eventually disintegrating.  Zeta and Wormox ended up going their own ways.  What Zeta didn’t realize was that Wormox had gone a bit crazy due to the suit ordeal.  He found new ways to use his telekinetic meditation and became much more powerful, eventually amassing a large group of followers.  Zeta-Bug only recently learned what Wormox has been up to, and now that he knows, he’s not feeling so great…

Why, oh why, did I just type all of that out?  I feel like a complete idiot…

I’m glad you did. It gives a lot of backstory that I wouldn’t have known otherwise from reading the strip.

    Happy New Year!
