Thanks for Everything (A Farewell to Bug & Worm)!!

As all off you who check the site regularly know, I’ve been having a hard time keeping Bug & Worm going for a while. I really wasn’t planning on ending the strip right now, but after I read the last strip a few times I realized it was unintentionally a great and simple way to wrap things up. So instead of throwing together more hastily drawn backgrounds and making another joke about how weird Bug is, I’m just going to let Bug & Worm go. Thank yo SO MUCH to all of you who have checked back week after week and always taken the time to post a comment or witty remark, even when the strip was pure crap. You are all my heroes.

I will keep working on LAIR OF THE LIZARDMIN and I’ll probably just move any random blog posts over there. If I ever come back and do anything at all with Bug & Worm again for any reason I’ll be sue to post it here.

Thanks again everyone for rocking my socks off and for letting Bug & Worm attempt to rock off yours.

UPDATE (on 9/14/2010): After re-reading this strip a few more times I realized it was a pretty good conclusion to Bug & Worm. So this is the last Bug & Worm strip that will be going up here on the site (and I’m serious about it this time). ORIGINAL POST (on 9/9/2010): I’ve got an idea for yet another spin-off strip featuring RoboBug and his new squad of Bugs and Worms that I’m working on. I’m not sure if I can make it work, though…

Man, it feels like I’ve done more that 244 of these things. I guess I’ve done a lot of B & W Adventures and Clippings, too. Hrm. I made the first B & W GIF animations and put them up on a site back in 1996 or 1997, so they have been around for 13-14 years. Crazy times. One day I’ll figure out a feasible way to make little Bug and Worm figurines. I think if I can do that I’ll finally feel like Bug and Worm have come into their own. Does anyone out there have any suggestions on how to make Bug & Worm figurines/sculptures happen? Have I asked this before?

I don’t remember if I mentioned it or not, but I’m aiming for a new comic each Thursday. From time to time I may not get it up until Friday, though (like this week, 8/20/2010). If you’re not following me on twitter (@eroomba) and/or subscribed to the RSS, you may just want to check back on Fridays. I apologize for the small number of updates and the inconsistent update schedule! Hopefully a little Bug & Worm is better than none at all?

I haven’t drawn the background grass from scratch in a while. It’s kind of like working on a bonsai tree. Each blade is precisely placed for optimum pixelated grassitude.
